With just one more Winter CES to go the penultimate one gave us the usual beauties. There were no real changes from last weekend RSPB garden birdwatch, but always a pleasure to encounter.
The early moving birds like the Robin and Blackbird gave us some new birds to ring, but also some old friends from the last four years of ringing.
Tree Sparrows are a common sight at the Trust and it is always nice to have birds ringed in the nest turn up a couple of years later as adults.
This female Great Spotted Woodpecker was ringed as a juvenile bird at the Trust two years ago.
